This summer at Port Covington’s City Garage, Dent Education and West Baltimore’s Green Street Academy launched Bet On Baltimore, an internship program for public high school students. Over eight weeks, the Bet On Baltimore program introduced students to the process of design thinking, the skills of making, the tools of entrepreneurship and the benefits of networking. Salaries for these eight talented interns were funded by a donation to the YouthWorks program from the Plank Family Foundation. Additional sponsors include Sagamore Development, Under Armour, Betamore and The Foundery.
This video is the first in a series of five that will chronicle their journey this summer. Viewers will follow the students as they make discoveries, stumble at times, persevere and learn. Episode One will be launched next week! Be sure to follow Port Covington on Twitter and like the Port Covington Facebook Page so you don’t miss an episode.
