Port Covington is a mixed-use waterfront neighborhood in South Baltimore that is undergoing an incredible transformation. In this series, we are highlighting many of the creatives, innovators, and entrepreneurs who come to work in Port Covington every day.
Meet Marc Broady, the Vice President of Community Affairs at Weller Development Company, the lead developer of the Port Covington neighborhood.
Marc, a native Baltimorean, joined the Weller Development Company team in September 2019 to ensure that the transformational nature of Port Covington reaches beyond its physical boundaries. He is leading initiatives focused on workforce development, women- and minority-owned business support, and community partnerships with the South Baltimore 7 (SB7) Coalition and beyond, to act as a bridge between the community and the developer. Marc is also responsible for managing compliance with the historic city-wide Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City of Baltimore as well as the Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) valued at over $135,000,000 – the largest in the history of Baltimore City.
His work in various facets of public service from Baltimore City Public Schools, to the Mayor’s Office, to the Office of the late Congressman Elijah E. Cummings, provided him with a natural pathway to join Weller Development, where he continues to serve his community.
