Baltimore City’s summer jobs program, YouthWorks, offers thousands of youth, ages 14-21, five-week paid job experiences with non-profit, government and private employers from across the city. For the third summer in a row, the Port Covington Development Team is sponsoring 100 paid summer positions for young people in our city, and this funding will continue for the next nine years. The Port Covington-funded positions are benefitting students from New Era Academy in Cherry Hill, Green Street Academy, and the Law Links program. To prepare the students for their jobs this summer, the Port Covington Impact Team hosted its first orientation including workshops on financial literacy, professionalism, ethics, and workplace communication and conflict.
